Still Standing

Standing still.
Waiting.
Doing nothing.
Waiting.
Still.

I can’t react; my reactions are judged.
I can’t think; I don’t know what to think.
I don’t have the answers.
I don’t know the questions.

How do you ask a question when you’re afraid of the answer?
Why? Because you don’t matter.
How? Because I don’t care.
It’s easier to just stand.
Still.

I close my eyes and pretend.
We’ll see …
But what will we see?

That your questions are already answered?
That you knew the answer before you formed the question?
That my questions will never be answered, because there is no answer?
So I stand.

Still.
